Thousand Yard Stare Tickets
"Thousand Yard Stare Tickets
Thousand Yard Stare is a band from Slough, Berkshire in England. They formed during the early 1990s and were just on the forefront of the Britpop explosion. They achieved much of their success in the early 1990s and then went on to release fantastic albums and also support great bands like James, Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine and others.
Schedule
This band was most popular back in the 1990s but that doesn't mean that they have stopped playing live shows! Their fans demand to hear them and many critics consider them one of the most underrated bands of the last century. This means that it's time to get Thousand Yard Stare tickets now because their upcoming shows will probably get packed with adoring fans! They are playing a rare reunion show at the Borderline in London, a famous venue that has hosted other indie rock greats in the past. Fans have also had chances to see them perform at Reading Festival and Glastonbury Festival, as well as other venues across Europe.
Trivia
This band came onto the scene around the same time as The Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays, which is why they maybe didn't gain as much attention at the time as they deserved. They were released on a smaller label, the Stifled Aardvark, and NME was one of the first to pick up on how awesome they were but many critics think that was the kiss of death for these boys. At the time, everyone was interested in learning about the unheard of bands that they felt like they had discovered on their own so calling this band the stars of the future might not have been the best way for them to gain attention.
Band
The band was comprised on vocalist Stephen Barnes, Dominic Bostock on drums, Sean McDonough on bass, Giles Duffy on guitar and Kevin Moxon on rhythm guitar. They met in Berkshire in 1988 when the five friends used to hang out at the local music venue, Windsor's Psykik Dance Hall. Their friendship solidified into a partnership when they all agreed to start playing together and Thousand Yard Stare was born from there.
Breakthrough
The band released their first album, a four-track EP called "Weatherwatching," on their own label in 1990. At first they only sold it at live gigs and the sales were pretty minimal but they began to see more interest developing over the next year or two. They started touring with bigger bands like Ned's Atomic Dustbin and the Milltown Brothers and, after that, they signed with Polydor Records and continued to grow in popularity.
Hit Albums
The band's first EP was popular with their fans and also with fans of the bands they were touring with at the time. The EP reached the top spot in both the NME and Melody Maker indie charts. Then another single "0-0 a.e.t." topped the charts again and reached number 65 on the UK singles chart. Their first full-length album, "Fair to Middling," is still a huge cult favorite with their fanbase.
Show Experience
These guys have always had fun touring and their live shows are one of the reasons their fans love them so much. They bring tons of energy to the stage and are also highly qualified musicians who love to dance onstage and share friendly banter with the audience. You'll have a ball if you are able to score Thousand Yard Stare tickets. Just make sure to show up early because these guys have die hard fans who have been waiting to hear them for over 20 years while they've been on hiatus from touring.
