The Style Councillors Tickets
"The Style Councillors Tickets
A tribute to the iconic 1980s English band The Style Council, the goal of The Style Councillors is to bring back the unforgettable sounds of the band's performances at Wembley in 1985. The Style Councillors allow fans to relive the hits they know and love, such as "Speak Like A Child" and "Walls Come Tumbling Down."
Schedule
The Style Councillors have multiple shows scheduled throughout the year and are currently embarking on a mini-tour of Europe. They will be playing at venues located in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Newcastle Upon Tyne, London at the Brooklyn Bowl London, and many more.
Trivia
The original band, The Style Council, featured four members; Paul Weller, Mick Talbot, Dee C. Lee, and Steve White. The band's first release, "Introducing The Style Council" was a mini-album that was only released in Netherlands, Japan, Canada and the U.S.; as such, the Netherlands release was one of the most highly imported albums into the United Kingdom at the time. Paul Weller eventually stated that when the band broke up, he felt they had created great music that wouldn't be appreciated for some time; however, tribute bands such as The Style Councillors have proven that there is a continued interest and demand for the music of these 1980s icons.
Band
The Style Councillors features an impressive lineup of 11 members, although the original lineup of The Style Council only featured four. Paul Weller, formerly with The Jam, formed the band in 1983 with Mick Talbot and recruited Dee C. Lee and Steve White later on. Weller was the vocalist and guitarist, Talbot commanded the keyboard, Lee was another vocalist and White was the drummer.
Breakthrough
Although The Style Council was only active for a short number of years, the band continued to have a very strong fan base around the world which prompted the continual release of additional albums of previously unheard tracks from the 1980s, as well as live tour DVDs and tribute bands such as The Style Councillors. The Style Councillors, however, have been the only Style Council tribute band to have gained international recognition for their performances and tours.
Hit Albums
Active from the period of 1983 to 1989, The Style Council released six full-length studio albums including Introducing The Style Council, Cafe Bleu, Our Favourite Shop, The Cost of Loving, Confessions of a Pop Group, and Modernism: A New Decade. Cafe Bleu and Our Favourite Shop would go on to become instant hits with fans and earned No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the UK music charts respectively. As such, The Style Councillors perform many of the hits from these albums in addition to songs from the set lists of the 1985 shows at Wembley Arena.
Show Experience
The Style Councillors aim to make every show just as fun and memorable as the original shows that were performed by The Style Council. Fans of the band keep coming back for more with every tour, reflecting the timeless sound and quality that The Style Councillors have maintained throughout their history of performing. Band members move to the beat on stage, showing the audience just how much they love what they do. It won't be long before the Style Councillors have the crowd on their feet, dancing along. Live performances, often referred to as "Council Meetings" are also fun meet ups for local fans in the area. Whether a fan of the classic Style Council or simply a lover of music from the '80s, having a pair of The Style Councillors tickets will always ensure access to a great show!
