The Fray Biography - Denver�s Finest Keep Shining
Formed in 2002 in Denver, singer Isaac Slade, guitarist Joe King, drummer Ben Wysocki and Dave Welsh settled as a band after a few initial line-up shifts, forging music based on their shared experiences at church. That same year they released their debut EP Movement, but they didn�t release their debut full-length album until 2005�s How to Save a Life. Boasting a tender yet forceful piano-led sound, the album made them stars, going double platinum in Australia, Canada and the UK, while their single �Over my Head (Cable Car)� became their first US Top 10 hit.
They didn�t follow up the album until 2009, when they released their self-titled record which became their first US Number One album. With this momentum behind them they amped their sound, earning comparisons to Coldplay and Keane, with 2012�s Scars & Stories paving the way for their stunning 2014 effort Helios, released in February 2014.
