The Courteeners - Indie Foursome Still Going Strong

Formed by guitarist Liam Fray in 2006, the Mancunians burst onto the hedonistic indie scene as a rowdy foursome, and relentless gigs in their local area earned them a huge fan base before they'd even released a record. In 2008, they debuted St Jude, which hit the upper echelons of the charts off the back of hit singles like 'Not Nineteen Forever' and 'Bide Your Time'. After hearing the album, U2 frontman Bono called them 'the best band of the last 10 years' and his support along with praise from former Smiths frontman Morrissey helped secure them a legion of followers.

Their studio albums Falcon (2010) and Anna (2013) helped them capture nationwide attention further, with a catalogue of indie-disco anthems including 'Take Over the World' and 'You Overdid It Doll' cementing them as a stadium-worthy rock outfit.
