The Symphonic Tribute to Queen is an annual tribute dedicated to the music of Queen and performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. In the 1960s, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra saw a major drop in funding. Despite this, the group managed to play on and witnessed growth as they gained backing from the Arts Council, securing the title of Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Since the creation and founding of the group, The Royal Philharmonic has had seven different lead conductors.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is based out of Cadogan Hall, where they play their classical pieces. For popular classics, such as tributes to pop and rock bands, the Orchestra performs at The Royal Albert Hall in London. Formed in 1946, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra came together at the hands of Sir Thomas Beecham. The orchestra's first performance was a success, and they began performing a series of concerts due to demand. Since it's creation, the Royal Philharmonic has presented many different shows, classical and modern. With the creation of the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, the new segment is dedicated to performing non-classical pieces to cater to a more modern audience. Performing hit Queen classics in an orchestrated format has proven to be a successful decision based on the popularity of the band's music.
