Picking up an axe for the first time as he entered his teens, this New York native learned his trade from a famous teacher, none other than Joe Satriani. By the age of 20, he was working with Frank Zappa, transcribing the seminal experimental artist's solos into sheet music, and later joining the madcap musician's backing band.
