Michal David was born as Vladimir Stancl in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1960. Now a popular singer, songwriter and music producer, Michal makes appearances throughout the Czech Republic and beyond, taking his shows to huge audiences. Renowned for giving great concert value, the performer embraces the opportunity to share his talent with his fans and they do not leave disappointed! Michal David first discovered his love of music at a young age and attended the Prague Conservatory where he was to form his first band, playing his beloved jazz with fellow students. Joining the pop music band Kroky, which was founded by legendary František Janeček in 1973, was a turning point in young Michal’s career and cast him into the spotlight. Discovering his talent for songwriting, he dedicated himself to the art and has proudly written hit songs for the Czech Ice Hockey team and popular singer Helena Vondráčková. Not just a great live performer, Michal David is a prolific writer and in 2002 composed a musical show that made its premier at the Broadway theatre in Prague. The show was entitled "Kleopatra" and Michal has continued to write and produce his musicals ever since. TV appearances have included being selected as a vocal coach on the Czech and Slovak National TV competition, which is part of the internationally recognised "The Voice" contests. Along with being a songwriting, performing and all-round entertainment maestro, Michal David plays the piano and electronic keyboard. His concert track-list must be a difficult choice with such a large catalogue to choose from, and can include vintage classics such as "Non Stop", "To Starnuti Zradne" and "Ruska Masa" to name but three. Although based in Czechoslovakia, Michal’s passion for touring has taken him around the world and he enjoys performing in all venues, small to large, in and out of doors.
