Born and raised in New York, Marco Antonio Muniz was destined for the stage after being named after a famous Mexican singer. Early into his musical career he showed promise by injecting his fresh, luscious vocals into salsa tracks, reinvigorating a genre that had long been stagnant. While purists might view these graceful records as his best work, he soon migrated to the mainstream and English language songs under the wing of pop producers who had helped Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige.
