He'll then head to Paris where he'll play a show at La Boule Noire, followed by more UK shows in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Nottingham, and Bristol. He'll finish his tour at Live at Leeds.

JP Cooper has always gone by JP. However, JP is not his given name. Instead, JP actually stands for John Paul, but JP found that the double name did not suit him as well, so he dropped it for his initials.

Singer

JP Cooper has been singing and performing for a long time. Born in Manchester, Cooper has been performing and playing for nearly 12 years. While his talent is obviously impressive and his songwriting abilities enviable, Cooper initially found it hard to find the right spot for him in the music world. He's played in rock bands, soul groups, and even in jazz clubs. He felt most at home in a gospel choir, however, and that music influenced his own greatly. Cooper fits into many genres, however, and his music reflects it. A little bit soul, a little bit gospel, and a little bit folk, JP Cooper feels like he has a little something for every body.

Breakthrough

JP Cooper has been playing and recording for some time, but he didn't start his rise to fame right away. In fact, it took until he was asked to go on tour with soul and gospel artist Angie Stone that people really took notice. After that tour in 2014, Cooper set out to write and release his own music. He released his first EP When the Darkness Comes, which garnered lots of critical attention and landed him on the "Future Sound of 2014" list.

Hit Albums

Cooper has yet to record and release a full-length studio album, but his EP has gotten him multiple gigs in London, as well as a spot at the highly-coveted SXSW, a music festival in Austin, TX.
