Gary Clark Jr Biography - Bringing Blues Back into Fashion

Born in Austin, the wannabe musician first picked up a guitar aged 12 and began playing gigs in his home town throughout his teens. After meeting promoter Clifford Antone he was introduced to a number of music icons, including Jimmie Vaughan, who was to help the rising star bring blues music back into the limelight. The next few years saw the star record tracks with the likes of Alicia Keys and the Foo Fighters, with the former tweeting the news of his new album release, Blak and Blu in late 2012.

The next couple of years saw the singer appear alongside The Rolling Stones on a few occasions for their 50th anniversary tour, play at major music festivals like Glastonbury and appear live on shows like Later�With Jools Holland. Most recently he won a Grammy for his song 'Ain't Messin Round' and in both 2014 and 2015 he won a Blue Music Award for 'Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year'. With his new album The Story of Sonny Boy Slim out on September 11th 2015, fans can expect to hear his newer works live alongside his best known tracks.
