The club was founded in 2011 by Jaraslav Ausobsky. While it began its days as an amateur club in the early 1920s, they took a historic trip to Spain where they won six out of nine matches. In 1929, they went professional and by the following season were finishing in second place. Promoted to the Czech First League, they went on to finish in fourth place in the 1935 Mitropa Cup - at the time it was the top European club competition. After the Second World War, the club was relegated to the divisions, but managed to get promoted back to the First League in 1961. Since then, the team has spent most of its time between the top two tiers.
