Cody Pennington was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, but now lives in Bury, Manchester. When he's not working on his musical ambitions, he is a medical technician at RAF, Lakenheath Hospital in Bury. His work in the hospital has inspired him to raise money for individuals with dementia. He recently played at The Apex in Bury St. Edmunds and donated all proceeds to improve conditions for dementia patients in the hospital.

Pennington began writing and performing music at the age of 13. Over the years, he has developed his own unique brand of "acoustic driven folk pop." Since he began playing in the East Anglian region of England, he has become an integral part of the music scene there. It is not unusual for him to perform to sold out shows, particularly as word spread about his talent and passion. For most of his live shows, Pennington brings along his band mates, Tim Squirrell on guitar, Gareth Crane on bass and Wilbur Garmin on drums.

Story of my Life, Pennington's first CD did very well, especially for an upcoming artist. His second EP, released in 2014, garnered even more attention from the media. Reviewers compare To Be Me to the work of some of the greatest singer-songwriters, including Jack Johnson.
