Clannad Biography - Celtic/Pop Crossover Pioneers Make Their Return

Formed in 1970 in Gweedore, County Donegal, the band started a journey that would thrust Celtic music firmly into the mainstream. Featuring siblings Moya, Ciaran and Pol Brennan as well as their twin uncles Noel and Padraig Duggan, the line-up also used to feature Enya, who left in 1981 to carve out a solo career. They enjoyed success in the confines of the folk music industry throughout the 1970s, then got their big breakthrough in the 1980s, when they crossed into the mainstream pop world. Their classic 1982 song 'Theme From Harry's Game' earned them a whole new audience and they consolidated their success with a string of seminal albums.

Having taken various breaks in their career they've always returned stronger, so fans were hugely excited to hear that in 2012 they started work on a new album.
