Chelsea Wolfe Biography - A Howling Success

Born to a country singer in California, this stand-out folk singer was already taking over her dad's home recording studio by the age of nine. During this period she would write and record a handful of gothic and R&B -inspired tracks, marking the beginnings of her musical career. Still, it wasn't until returning from a friend's tour in 2009 that she plucked up the courage to begin making music for the ears of others. She began recording on a portable eight-track and the resulting songs contributed to 2010 debut album The Grime and the Glow. Third album Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs turned the solo singer into one of 2012's success stories when it breached the Top 30 of both the Billboard Heatseekers and Folk albums charts. Her solemn performances are punctuated with ghostly vocals and a uniquely dark atmosphere that completely immerses audiences into her haunting sound. Able to pull off performances that are stripped-bare and seeped in synth, the aspiring singer-songwriter looks set to be an unstoppable force over the next few years.
