Now one of the few legends of his rather insular scene, Walsall spieler Andrew John Clarke has become one of the most iconic and mysterious rave music figureheads to emerge from England over the last twenty years. Starting out in the 1990s, he first gained a sterling reputation in the West Midlands off the back of his hugely successful track 'Valley of the Shadows'. One of the earliest examples of drum and bass, the song became a firm favourite on dancefloors across the UK and beyond.
As the decade progressed, he became an increasingly noteworthy figure, known for his enigmatic stage presence and tendency to wear a baseball cap. Starting his own drum and bass label Ram Records, he become one of the most important influencers on the newly emerging music genre in the 2000s, releasing a string of EPs featuring soon-to-be leading producers. In recent years, his success has soared and Clarke's awards cabinet is now stacked with coveted gongs from DJ Magazine and the Drum and Bass Arena.
