Alison Moyet Biography - Yazoo to the West End
This sultry singer began fashioning her mainstream pop career at just 21, forming synth-pop outfit Yazoo with ex-Depeche Mode member and then boyfriend Vince Clarke. The pair produced a string of worldwide hits, including 'Only You' and 'Don't Go', before splitting personally and professionally in 1983. Firmly established as an artist, Moyet released her her debut solo album Alf, hitting Number One in the charts and spawning two Top 10 hits. In 1985 a cover of 'That Ole Devil Called Love' saw the singer achieve her highest charting single yet, peaking at Number 2. More recently the critically acclaimed solo artist released The Minutes, which propelled her back into the Top 5. Meanwhile, recent years have also seen her adapt her talents for the West End in productions of Chicago and Smaller.
Moyet's seductively husky vocals and deep register combine with her easy on-stage presence to give a relaxed gig.
